Sharon, I can’t thank you enoug for helping us out. It was new territory for all three of us. Your professionalism, dull diligence and soft touch, shows your true skills. Mum , was not understanding the reason why you are helping. She has the first signs of dementia and I am trying to get a suitable program together to support Mum. One thing was clear at this stage was she was not comfortable with someone else in the house. She at 86 still things she can do every thing. She can, but it drains her, she can’t see that she had more energy because you made the beds, you cooked, you washed up, you vacuumed, you wet vacuumed the hallway and landing . Tried starting a puzzle with Mum which she hasn’t done for a while. You were supportive with her going to the Church coffee club on both Monday’s, again she has never been able to get there as she puts obstacles in the way. At times you were both close and she couldn’t see what energy you gave her as she had more in reserve. Olive is super independent but she doesn’t realise her limitations. Things like swapping the bed clothes, putting them on the line then taking them in with Mum I thought was a winner. Being there for Mum is appreciated hopefully she will have the wisdom to see it . One minute she is with it , then she is all over the place so your empathy was noted . Anyway thank you, weebale. X
